Welding or doing hot work is always a case for extra care and attention. Having portable fire extinguishers that have been recently inspected is just the first step in ensuring the safety of not only our employees, but the structures we work on.
We make safety a top priority and we proactively go above and beyond to ensure it. It’s a two part process that involves maintaining compliance with local, state and federal regulations on all job sites, as well as providing our At Above All Store Fronts employees with the information and tools necessary to act quickly in any given moment.
What To Know for Accident Prevention
- Keep extinguishers mounted and visible for easy access (extinguishing agent is 75 feet (22.9 m) or less from the combustible area)
- Maintain a rigorous testing schedule to ensure that extinguishers will work immediately
- Train workers in advance so they don’t have any hesitation when needed
Portable fire extinguishers for Class D hazards are required in those combustible metal working areas where combustible metal powders, flakes, shavings, or similarly sized products are generated at least once every two weeks (as mandated by OSHA)

We Go Above and Beyond
There are additional steps we take to ensure that we cover every possible aspect of safety prevention. This includes:
Accident Prevention Program – We start building accident prevention into the process when the bidding first starts and carry it through until the project is complete
Toolbox Talks – Our certified safety officer conducts weekly talks to supply employees with pertinent information that applies directly to the equipment they are using for a particular job. The topic of portable fire extinguishers comes up often in our quest to keep their use top-of-mind.
Remember, safety is the priority and quality is the standard. Contact us today to learn more.
