Our unique Design Assist Process begins with our knowledgeable internal team who help to facilitate the design-assist workflow. The next step is to communicate directly with architects and general contractors before any project actually begins. This assures that every project is seen with a fresh set of eyes, while we develop and execute a custom-tailored plan for the job at hand. Basically what we have developed is a finessed methodology that takes every component of a project into close consideration to see how it can be refined to be as productive as possible. Below are the different steps that we take each time as we work with an architect or contractor to start a new client project. Consistency is key and by following these specific steps, we ensure that every phase of work is carefully controlled and more importantly communicated in a timely manner.

STEP 1 – Establish the Project Budget

There is no need for a construction project to go over budget if the job at hand is clearly defined before it begins. Our team is extremely diligent when establishing an accurate project budget during the pre-construction stages to provide the financial data necessary to make wise decisions for all involved and plan for changes, before they happen. Taking into consideration preliminary drawings and additional project details, we examine potential costs from every angle to ensure that the project can move forward efficiently. Important conversations take place up front to address any questionable budget considerations so that the groundwork is sufficiently laid out to proceed with next steps and costly alterations prevented.

STEP 2 – Develop the Design Assist Outline

Accurate scheduling is what can make or break the on time completion of any construction project. At Above All Store Fronts, we take this into consideration while comprehensively outlining a proposed timeline covering every aspect of work and involved manpower. After reviewing with our internal team and consequently everyone else who is involved, we then agree upon a baseline project schedule. At this step we also obtain approval on projected budget expectations and most importantly, determine the deliverables from all members of the design assist team.

STEP 3 – Define the Project Scope and Design Development

At this phase, consistent communication is key. We are constantly in touch with both the architect and general contractor providing up to the minute updates on evolving costs as well as providing correlating data and potential Value Engineering (VE) options. This is when quality control measures come into play to ensure the highest level of satisfaction.
