Project Highlight: Kawneer IR 501T / 501UT Storefront Systems and Kawneer IR 501T / 501UT

Kawneer IR 501T / 501UT Storefront Systems

Key Features Include:
Impact-Resistant: Complies with both large and small missile impact standards, which means it can endure flying debris during storms and resist forced entry.

Thermally Broken: Both versions enhance energy efficiency by reducing heat transfer. The 501UT offers enhanced thermal performance (UT = Ultra Thermal).

Ideal for Ground-Level Use: Engineered for storefronts and entrances in high-traffic environments such as hospitals, schools, and public facilities.

Dry Glazed or Wet Glazed Options: For flexibility in installation.

Customizable: Capable of supporting various glass thicknesses and accommodating different aesthetic preferences.

We used Kawneer’s IR 501T / 501UT for South Shore University Hospital because it offers strength and security in high-use entry points, it contributes to energy efficiency and noise reduction, and it’s designed to blend safety with clean, professional aesthetics.

Kawneer IR 1600 Curtain Wall System

Key Features Include:
Impact-Resistant Framing: Engineered to comply with strict building codes in hurricane-prone or high-risk areas.

Stick Fabrication: Allows for easier installation and section replacement without the need to redo the entire wall.

Captive or Structural Silicone Glazing: Gives flexibility in appearance and performance.

Thermal Breaks: Improves thermal performance for energy efficiency.

Design Flexibility: Supports a range of glass sizes and finishes.

We used Kawneer’s IR 1600 Curtainwall System for Mt. Sinai in Wantagh because it offers a sleek, modern façade while meeting safety codes, it’s durable under pressure from weather, and it supports design continuity in healthcare buildings.

Above All Store Fronts chooses these systems not just for their durability and safety, but also for their flexibility, energy performance, and clean design — all of which are crucial in high-traffic, high-stakes environments like hospitals. To learn more, contact us today at (631) 627-3535.
